When I was growing up as
a kid, I always had that believed that the ocean was a boundary between us
humans and some unknown living alien. As I grew older I began to change, seeing
water for its uniqueness and how it's been used for various purposes.
As you begin to read, I
hope you are with a glass of water to stabilize the body system of yours
because trust me you will not regret reading to the very end.
From that very day I
began a quest for knowledge, a revelling fascinating trail to reveal the
spiritual symbol to water and I also got to understand what and what a sacred
water place should look like, that sacred water environment must have peace,
shade, rock, trees, fruits, water flowing from a mysterious source and sacred
water can also become healing water.
On this quest I ran
into an interesting book titled a treasure of great spiritual stories; spirituality
in everyday living by Dr Sukhraj Dhillon. In this book I read a story about
Alexander in search of sacred water, a story I would love to share with every
reader:
“There’s a legend that Alexander was in search of sacred water that could make people immortal. The legend goes that search for sacred water was more important to him than victory over the whole world. And the story continues that he finally found that place in which there was a fountain of sacred water. Alexander was overwhelmed to find sacred water for which he devoted his entire life. He walked into the cave and moved closer to the fountain of water to drink so that he would never die.As he moved to take some water, he heard a crow shouting at him, “stop! Stop! Don’t make this mistake.” Alexander looked at the crow, which was in bad shape. The crow’s feathers were almost gone and its eyes could hardly open. It was in such a pitiful condition that one could hardly recognize if it was a crow. Alexander asked, “Why are you stopping me? And who are you to stop me, anyhow!”
Crow cried, “Please listen to my story. I was in search of this sacred water too. I found this place and drink this water. Now I can’t die. Look at me carefully, and then you can do whatever you decide. If you still want to go ahead, it’s your decision and drink the sacred water.Alexander stopped for a while and thought carefully. And then he walked away out of the cave. He didn’t drink the sacred water which could have made him immortal.”
We all want to live, no
one really wants to die; forgetting that death itself is a gift to life. In the
world of today that people are always looking for an easy way out not giving a
rethink of every action and what might be the outcome of every repercussion.
There is always a
saying that “when something looks really simple, then you should approach it
with caution, particularly if you have never done it before”
Alexander would have
preferred living forever but he didn’t; he only peacefully walked out of that
cave because he gave his future with such immortal power a rethink.
Don’t get me wrong.
Healing water might exist according to beliefs, myths and culture but living a
healthy life is a natural cheat, staying health and drinking healthy who knows
you may out live your expectations.
Just food for thought.
